The division of Plastic and Reconstructive Microsurgery provides 2 kinds of programs for the International visiting scholar:
Visiting Scholarship Program
In this program , you may stay in our division for a maximum of 3 months. You may observe the clinic activities, including surgery, but you may not scrub in. Once you're accepted as a visiting scholar, you have to prepare some documents for the application; usually, the paperwork takes 10 weeks. A free single dormitory will be provided to finish the paperwork.
Fellowship program
1. Duration: at least one year and in conjunction with a master's degree of science in reconstructive microsurgery at Chang Gung University, tuition-free.
2. Selection: based on competition among applicants, usually select 8 from around 50-60 per year.
3. Scholarship: not always available
4. Quallification: Completion of resident training of any of the following: plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, hand surgery, ENT, or Orol maxillofacial surgery.
5. Rotation arrangement: for those from a plastic training background we include all four fields in microsurgery: head and neck, upper and lower extremity, breast and lymphedema, peripheral nerve and functioning muscle transfer
