Prof. Fisher is a pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgeon at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, internationally recognized for his contributions to cleft lip and palate surgery and for his teaching of surgeons worldwide.
He is widely known for describing the anatomical subunit approximation technique for unilateral cleft lip repair — a method now taught and practiced across cleft centers internationally — and for a career-long commitment to refining outcomes in cleft care.

A Named Lectureship in Craniofacial Surgery 陳昱瑞教授講座 · 設立緣起
The Yu-Ray Chen Professorship honors a defining figure in craniofacial surgery by inviting the world's leading surgeon-educators to the Chang Gung Craniofacial Center each year — to teach, to challenge, and to carry a tradition forward.
Established in the department's 50th-anniversary year, the professorship recognizes a distinguished surgeon whose work has advanced the art and science of cleft and craniofacial care. The inaugural award is presented alongside Noordhoff Day, the department's annual gathering of faculty, fellows, and alumni.
Named for Prof. Yu-Ray Chen — whose leadership shaped Chang Gung's craniofacial program into an international referral center — the lectureship pairs a keynote address with a week of grand rounds and resident teaching, open to faculty, fellows, and residents.
